Our Philosophy
We believe in working closely with our clients from the inception of the project. Knowing the needs and visions of the Client form the basis of the engineering solutions. In the early stages, we can advise on the technical options and their impact on financial considerations. At the same time, we would be actively researching statutory requirements that may have an impact on the planning of the project.
We know the importance of providing the appropriate engineering solutions. We strive to deliver a quality product that conforms to the Clients’ brief. Our engineers are trained to ensure that the designs are cost effective and practical.
Close contacts are maintained with the various statutory bodies at both State and Federal levels to keep abreast with their requirements. Concurrently, our engineers are constantly updated on the latest technology and design techniques in the industry. We also resource construction technology by keeping abreast with contractors who are in the forefront of developing and utilising new construction techniques.
We believe engineering is an ever-advancing field and it’s our commitment to be constantly informed so as to provide the best possible and prudent advice to our partners and Clients.

Ir. Dr Che Arrifin is a member of the Board of Directors for EDP Consulting Group Sdn Bhd. He has more than 40 years of experience specializing in the geotechnical engineering field. He is a Fellow of Institute of Engineers, Malaysia and Fellow of the Geological Society of London. Upon graduating from University of Glasgow, he further pursue and obtained his M.Sc in geotechnical engineering and subsequently a Ph.D in civil engineering at the University of Newcastle, United Kingdom. He has also authored several technical papers during his working career mainly on geotechnical aspect. Prior to joining EDP, he had many successful years at reputable companies such as Ove Arup, Minconsult Sdn. Bhd. and Ganendra, Ahmad and Associates.
He has vast knowledge and experience in reclamation and shore works, soil improvement in soft grounds, hilly terrain development, piling just to name a few. During his time at EDP, he has been involved in several major projects such as Township and Business District Developments, Highrise foundations, Industrial Park Developments, Reclamation, Malls, Highways.

Datuk Ir. Teoh is a member of the Board of Directors for EDP Consulting Group Sdn Bhd with over 40 years of experience as a professional engineering consultant. He has vast technical experiences in both structure, infrastructure and master planning. He is a registered Professional Engineer, Malaysia and Chartered Engineer, United Kingdom. He is also a member of Institute of Civil Engineers, United Kingdom, Institute of Engineers, Malaysia and Board of Engineers, Malaysia. Upon graduating from University of Brighton, United Kingdom, he joined the Malaysian Public Works Department (JKR) where he obtained essential knowledge before venturing onto Ganendra, Ahmad and Associates where he held senior key positions before forming EDP in 1995.
Datuk Ir. Teoh is knowledgeable and technical oriented. He has a strong background in business and finance development, project management and operations. He has led multidisciplinary teams on countless occasions, consistently achieving in delivering major projects.

Ir. Bruce Chan is a member of the Board of Directors of EDP Consulting Group Sdn Bhd. He has more than 40 years of experience particularly specializing in high-rise structure. He is a Chartered Engineer, United Kingdom and member of Institution of Structural Engineer (IStructE), Institution of Civil Engineer, United Kingdom, Institute of Engineers, Malaysia, Board of Engineers, Malaysia. Upon graduating from University of Melbourne, he has worked at several prominent international companies such as Ove Arup, Minconsult Sdn. Bhd., Oscar Faber Consultants Pte. Ltd. (currently known as AECOM) and held several senior positions along the way before becoming a Director at EDP.
He has in depth knowledge and experience on building structures spanning across Asia. He has worked on numerous major and large-scale projects such as Skyscrapers, Malls, Towers, Hotels, Education Centres, Township and Business Development Centres.
