Banyan Tree Kuala Lumpur consists of 492 units of apartments and 55 hotel rooms and suites on a 10-storey podium block with 2 levels of basement parking. Banyan Tree Kuala Lumpur was constructed on a land size of approximately 1.4-acres.
Technical Description
The site is underlain by Kuala Lumpur limestone formation interfaced along with Kenny Hill formation. Large diameter bored piles of up to 2.5m in diameter size were adopted for the foundations with an objective to minimise the number of piles due to the constricted site location. Contiguous bored pile walls ranging from 750mm to 900mm in diameter size were bored to form and act as the basement retaining structure. Banyan Tree Kuala Lumpur comprised of a 9-storey podium carpark which was designed and constructed as a post tensioned band beam system. Columns were designed using G60 concrete. Transfer beams and plate ranging from 3m to 4.5m deep were introduced at Level 10. At specific zones, transfer beams can be seen cantilevering up to 6m. Design stresses were controlled to limit deflection due to the long cantilever. Shear walls and slab system were utilised for the typical floors.
