Setia Alam Impian is an expansive and ongoing development project, spanning a total land area of 1,235 acres. This freehold, mixed-use township, which is characterized by individual land titles, is strategically located in the heart of Shah Alam, approximately 8 km from the Shah Alam City Centre, the state capital of Selangor. The project represents a comprehensive urban plan that integrates residential, commercial, and industrial zones, alongside essential infrastructure, public services, and amenities. With an estimated Gross Development Value (GDV) of RM 11 billion, Setia Alam Impian is projected to be developed over a 30-year period, with an anticipated completion date in 2036. The township is designed to accommodate an estimated population of 80,000 residents. The development is well-connected and easily accessible via four major highways and expressways: the Kemuning–Shah Alam Highway (LKSA), the KESAS Shah Alam Expressway, the Federal Highway, and the North–South Expressway Central Link (ELITE).
Technical Description
EDP has played a pivotal role in this project, serving as the principal civil infrastructure master planner and overseeing the geotechnical works for the development. The firm’s responsibilities include the design and implementation of key infrastructure elements, such as the main drainage systems, flood detention ponds, water reticulation networks, primary sewer lines, roadways, and earthworks. In addition, EDP is responsible for geotechnical works, including slope stability, ground improvement, and other geotechnical-related tasks. All designs were carried out in accordance with relevant design requirements and industry standards.
Furthermore, EDP has been instrumental in liaising with various local authorities and securing the necessary approvals for the project. These authorities include Majlis Bandaraya Shah Alam (MBSA), Air Selangor (AIS), Indah Water Konsortium (IWK), and Jabatan Pengairan dan Saliran (JPS) Selangor. EDP’s efforts ensure that all aspects of the development comply with local regulations and environmental standards.
