Kota Seri Langat is a comprehensive master-planned township by PNB Development Sdn Bhd, spanning approximately 2,888 acres in the Kuala Langat district of Selangor. Strategically located within the southern growth corridor of the Klang Valley, it is positioned to benefit from proximity to key infrastructure hubs such as Northport, Westport, Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), and major urban centers including Shah Alam and Klang. The township is well-connected via several major highways—namely the West Coast Expressway (WCE), South Klang Valley Expressway (SKVE), and the Shah Alam Expressway (KESAS)—offering seamless access for both residents and businesses. Planned as a sustainable and integrated mixed-use development, Kota Seri Langat combines residential neighborhoods, commercial zones, and industrial areas within a thoughtfully designed urban framework. The township aims to foster a balanced lifestyle through the provision of green spaces, community facilities, and modern infrastructure. It is also aligned with environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles, with emphasis on sustainable construction, efficient resource management, and inclusive growth.
Technical Description
EDP has played a pivotal role in this project, serving as the principal civil infrastructure master planner and overseeing the geotechnical works for the development. The firm’s responsibilities include the design and implementation of key infrastructure elements, such as the main drainage systems, flood detention ponds, stormwater management, water reticulation networks, primary sewer lines, roadways, and earthworks. The WCE Interchange was also part of EDP’s scope of work as the civil, structure and geotechnical engineer. In addition, EDP is responsible for geotechnical works, including slope stability, ground improvement, and other geotechnical-related tasks. All designs were carried out in accordance with relevant design requirements and industry standards. Furthermore, EDP has been instrumental in liaising with various local authorities and securing the necessary approvals for the project. These authorities include the local council – Majlis Perbandaran Kuala Langat (MPKL), water service provider – Air Selangor (AIS), national sewerage provider – Indah Water Konsortium (IWK), and department of irrigation and drainage – Jabatan Pengairan dan Saliran (JPS). EDP’s efforts ensure that all aspects of the development comply with local regulations and environmental standards, safeguarding the project’s long-term sustainability. Leveraging its expertise in large-scale infrastructure projects, EDP plays a critical role in translating PNB Development’s master plan into a functional, efficient, and resilient urban environment—one that is capable of supporting future growth while minimizing environmental impact.
